Ash you´ve played quite a few dates in Ibiza this summer including Kehakuma, what do you think of the parties and scene here this season?
Ahead of playing Kehakuma on 28th July, we catch up with the London-based duo Alex Celler & Anthea to talk releases, individual projects and enjoying Ibiza outside the club.
With a new LP out and a worldwide tour just completed, 2011 has been a little hectic for Simon Baker so far to say the least.
However, he’s still excited to be back playing Kehakuma this summer and tells us what makes Ibiza special to him.
Founder of the highly respected Leftroom label, Matt Tolfrey has been a key figure in the underground house and techno scene for some time now. Currently focusing his efforts on a forthcoming album and nurturing the talent of new artists like Laura Jones, we take 5 minutes to catch up with the Kehakuma DJ.
Known for his captivating live sets and outstanding analogue productions, we are more than pleased to have Glimpse play Kehakuma a number of times this summer, including the grand closing party. He takes times out of his busy schedule to talk us through his current live set up, studio equipment and forthcoming releases.
How and when do you start as a duo ?
We started with the youANDme project in 2008. Before that we had our own careers with different projects ranging from dub to techno. We’ve known each other for a long time because we grew up in a small village in the middle of Germany. At the beginning Daniel was more into music production and Martin came with a DJ background. Thus, we inspired each other through our different skills and spent a lot of time together to learn about the production stuff, doing music and going out to parties.
Recognised and acclaimed as one of the brightest young stars on the UK underground house scene, we caught up briefly with Burnski in preparation for his return to Kehakuma for 2011.
In the first of a series of profiles on the artists playing at Kehakuma in 2011, we fired some questions at one of London’s hottest young properties right now, Maya Jane Coles, who will playing at Kehakuma for the Opening Party on June 2nd and also on July 28th.

Another Kehakuma artist from the reputed Air London stable – providers of the likes of Nick Curly, Glimpse and Simon Baker, to name but a few – Adam Shelton is a enjoying unbounded success as both DJ and producer around the world. His tour diary includes the likes of Panorama Bar, Cocoon, Glastonbury Festival and Harry Klein in Munich as well as London clubbing mecca Fabric, whilst his productions have found themselves regularly in the sets of DJs like Seth Troxler, Heidi and Craig Richards, amongst a list of many others. We checked-in with him ahead of his Kehakuma 2011 appearance at Space Ibiza.
